Powers: Squirrel Girl has a tail that is three to four feet in length, teeth strong enough to chew through wood, claws, enhanced agility, enhanced strength, retractable knuckle spikes for climbing, and the ability to communicate with squirrels.
Background: Squirrel Girl is from Los Angeles, California. She is first seen trying to impress Iron Man into making her his sidekick. She is fourteen at the time and Iron Man is unimpressed. After declining, the two were attacked by Doctor Doom who then kidnapped Iron Man while leaving Squirrel Girl behind, considering her not to be a threat. To save Iron Man, Squirrel Girl called hundreds of squirrels to flood through the vents of Doctor Doom’s ship where they stopped him by chewing through wires and attacking Doctor Doom. After this Squirrel Girl relocated to New York and fights crime in Central Park. Squirrel Girl meets Flatman and Doorman and joins the Great Lakes Avengers. She has a specific squirrel that acts as her sidekick, Monkey Joe, and she insists that he be made a full member of the G.L.A. in his own right. However, Monkey Joe was killed by Leather Boy, who was rejected from the G.L.A., while dressed as Doctor Doom. Squirrel Girl then helped to defeat Maelstrom with a squirrel army, all of whom were killed save one. The one surviving squirrel became Squirrel Girl’s new companion and she named the squirrel Tippy-Toe. Squirrel Girl was offered a place in S.H.I.E.L.D. but she rejected the offer saying she was happy where she was. The Great Lake Avengers changed their name to the Great Lake Champions. Eventually Squirrel Girl left the Great Lake Avenger (who had again changed their name) because she realized while they were a great team, they were relying on her to defeat any enemies that came along.
